Why Would Anyone Want To Buy YOUR House?

The most important question I ask my clients during the listing interview is "What does your home have to offer?" It's a great question because it immediately takes the homeowner to what they love about their home. Now, he doesn't always see the chipped corners in the hallway and the holes in the carpet in front of the fireplace where the crackling coals got out of hand. And he definitely doesn't pick up on the smell of Fido that hit my nostrils the moment I went through the front door. That's my job to point out. But what he does know, and what I need to know, is the magic that this home has to offer. I need to know about the magnificent sunset that's visible from the kitchen window at 4 or 5 in the afternoon, or the miraculous way the living area handles a boisterous group of 30-40 friends at Christmas time. And the soft breeze on the screened-in porch that cools a summer's evening no matter how hot St. Louis is in July, that's what someone needs to tell me.

Helping homebuyers find their perfect place to live has been my noble privilege for over 35 years, and I never forget that I don't do it alone.
